Garage Door Bounces Back Open

Get logic board replacement. The measurement is used to reset the up limit switch on your garage door opener. Sometimes the sensors will be in alignment and just as the door gets close to being shut it will vibrate enough to push one sensor off. You push the button to close the garage door.

It goes partway down reverses direction and goes back up again. Open the garage door and watch it closely as it opens. Maybe you have to hold the garage door button down for the door to close. If these can t see each other when the door is almost shut it will send a signal to the garage door motor to open back up.

Your garage door s logic board is the brain of your garage door opener. Turn the down limit switch screw clockwise one turn with a flat blade screwdriver if the garage door closes and then begins to open back up. Try the door and if it still re opens turn the same dial another complete revolution. Does your garage door opener stop and reverse.

Turn it one complete turn clockwise. Check to be sure these two sensors on either side of your garage door. Measure the height where the door stops while it is being opened. If you garage door is lowering then reversing back to the open position there could be something obstructing the sensors.

In order to fix this you ll want to make small changes to the close limit setting until the door opener knows to stop once the door has reached the floor.

When the garage door opens about halfway or 5 feet from the ground and stops the up limit switch needs to be adjusted. This brain can wear out in time so you could need a replacement. When the logic board wears out it can cause your garage door to close then open and vice versa without explanation. The garage door will automatically go in reverse.
